Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Hush keeps its product data on your device. Production releases use privacy-filtered diagnostics and basic website measurement, but never upload your search content or saved Hush data.

Data processed locally

Hush may store the following data in chrome.storage.local:

  • Domains, full URLs, and CSS selectors that you choose to mark.
  • Search queries, search engine names, and timestamps when search history is enabled.
  • Marking statistics, preferences, language selection, ad-marking settings, and subdomain-matching settings.

Search history is off by default. You can enable, disable, or delete existing history from the extension settings at any time.

Search page processing

On the explicitly supported Google, Baidu, Bing, 360 Search, Sogou, Yahoo!, Yandex, and DuckDuckGo domains, Hush reads DOM structure, visible advertising labels, and result links to identify and mark search results. This processing happens entirely inside your browser. Page content and search queries are not transmitted.

Hush does not inject or scan pages outside the exact supported search-engine domains declared in the extension Manifest.

Diagnostics and website measurement

Production releases use limited error diagnostics. The website also uses basic page-load performance measurement.

These events are privacy-filtered. Hush does not upload search queries, page content, clicked or blocked URLs, saved domains, CSS selectors, search history, settings, statistics, cookies, request bodies, or URL query parameters.
